When the Caveman thinks it sees a threat, it triggers one of the “F responses”: fight, flight, or freeze.
cortisol and adrenaline are pumped into the body to help focus on the threat, ignore everything else, and aggressively do whatever it takes to overcome the danger.
these same biochemicals give us the energy needed to make an escape.
the mind becomes over- whelmed and causes the body to stop moving, and often stop thinking, in an attempt to not be noticed by whatever we feel threatened by.
